Yellowcard出版的新唱片《Paper Walls》是一张好唱片，确切的说是一张优秀的Punk-Pop唱片，简单直白的歌词一直是我评价一张好的流朋专辑的先要条件，这张作品不例外也做到了，一直认为Sean Mackin的小提琴在乐队中有着举足轻重的作用也成为了乐队区别于其它流朋团体的标志，新作中小提琴的特色再次被发挥的淋漓尽致，在我看来，正是有了这把小提琴，才会让乐队音乐显得年轻却不轻浮。专辑中最值得颂扬的一首歌当属“Dear Bobbie”，乐队在歌曲中穿插了主唱Ryan Key的87岁祖父写给他的妻子的情书，值得一提的是Key的祖父母已经结婚58年了，这让整首歌都充满着浪漫和令人羡慕的内容。

翻译小记：Low Millions的主唱Adam Cohen继承了他父亲Leonard Cohen词作方面的天赋，爱情这个永恒的主题必然会产生众多令人感伤的歌曲，这首“Julia”其实就是收音机里那首悲伤的歌。

Blue October在经历了无比失败的03年专辑《History for Sale》之后，在去年终于推出了成员们精心打造的《Foiled》，这张长达1小时04分的作品被证明是一张优秀的专辑，作品中尝试了另类，后垃圾，电子，民谣等多种曲风，整部作品繁而不乱，宽洪大气，体现了乐队卧薪尝胆后喷薄而出的无限才华和气质，最后一曲11分钟的音乐小品“18th Floor Balcony”让专辑在忧伤的基调中戛然而止。

我压根不是一个王菲的歌迷，甚至说我从来没喜欢过这个歌手，知道“为非作歹”这首歌是翻唱The Sundays的名曲“Here's Where the Story Ends”纵然也是机缘巧合，今天重听《Reading, Writing and Arithmetic》，再次被Harriet Wheeler清亮的声音所震撼，这支似乎并不为人所知的英国乐队成立20年来只出了寥寥3张专辑，但每当你去温习这几张唱片时，你不禁会有种惊艳的感觉，他们不比任何英伦另类流行摇滚上的大牌乐队差，我一直相信一句话，低调的人才是最有爆发力的人。

大家通过我翻译的歌词来感受一下“Here's Where the Story Ends”和“为非作歹”的区别吧，其实在某种程度上，Harriet和王菲的嗓音有异曲同工之处。

今天总算把Ramones的全集从驴子上扒了下来，记得大学那会儿第一次听到他们的歌就是“I Don't Want To Grow Up”，而且还是个MV，那时候就觉得怎么会有那么简单好听的三和弦旋律，再加上自己知道“Grow Up”是啥意思，不免对这首歌更加喜爱。尝试着自己翻了一下歌词，如不当之处，请大家指证。

今天在单位上厕所的时候忽然间一些关于大学的记忆就如那泉泉尿流般涌了出来，记得大一一次系篮球比赛前，因为天气寒冷的原因，寝室一特雄壮可爱的同学忽然要我在寝室放死亡金属给他听，因为我常常向他提起听死金能有让人兴奋颠狂的效果，他觉得这时候听可以起到热身驱寒的效果，说实话那时候自己还没完全弄清楚死金和重金属的区别，总是弱智地把两者等同起来，在我那时的观念里重金属就是最吵最不好听的音乐，所以自己找出了一张在那时候看来最吵，动静最大的专辑出来，现在还清楚的记得那张专辑是Halford的《Crucible》，室友在听了1分钟不到后，连呼实在太吵，听了反而更冷了，说实话那会儿自己和他一起听的时候也觉得TMD实在是不堪入耳，别说驱寒了，我差不点阳痿。

现在想起来都觉得那会自己特搞笑，这也暴露出了那时我不懂装懂的缺点，不过从那时候起Rob Halford就没给我留下啥好印象，包括他的Judas Priest，看来音乐的确会给幼小的心灵带来长期不可磨灭的影响。不过我现在觉得重金属特好听，而死金比刀郎都无法让我接受。

作为10年后乐队的重组专辑，《Lifetime》听起来依旧保持了乐队原来赖以成名的爽快节奏和提神感觉，但仅仅在23分钟的作品长度内想追求节奏和速度的契合点，反而显得上气不接下气，而段落之间缺乏变化，有好几首歌结尾部分的鼓点基本上大同小异，Ari Katz似乎想迫不及待把他10年来的所有精力呈现出来，但显然效果适得其反，专辑最大的优点是保持了优秀Punk乐队的爆发力和节奏感，而缺点则是作品太过整齐划一。
